Terracotta Tapas Servers

spanish terracotta restaurant dish
Terracotta tapas servers come in a plethora of sizes and designs, the terracotta cooking dish or cazuela is probably the most common for hot tapas but when it comes to just serving, ie: when something oven proof is not required a whole new selection of Spanish terracotta becomes available.

The dish pictured left is a new addition to our 'Guadix' range, made by artisan potter Juan Manuel all Guadix pieces are made by hand and Juan is an expert at recognising simplicity whilst remaining highly functional. Adapted from his popular extra large olive server this dish loses the smaller dish attached within (used for olive stones) and adopts a pair of convenient handles for easy serving. At 17cm in diameter and 4.5cm deep this dish can be used for a multitude of purposes from serving tapas both hot and cold, salads, nuts and even salsa's should the party be big enough!

As with all terracotta Juan's tableware also needs to be soaked to help toughen up the ceramic which will improve longevity however it cannot be used over heat as these pieces are designed as tableware only.
